Barefoot Championship Cup – Guidelines
This year 24 leagues across the country will
be competing in the Barefoot Wine
AVPNext Series. Each league will be
sending two (2) teams – one (1) men’s and
one (1) women’s team each consisting of two (2) players -- to Chicago,
Illinois to compete against each other in the Barefoot Wine AVPNext Championship Cup on August 27, 2010.
The Championship
Cup precedes the AVP Tour Chicago Open, August 27-29. The winning men’s and women’s team will
receive trophies, a check for $5,000.00 ($2,500 for each player), and entry
into the main draw on Saturday, August 28, to play against the pros.
Each
team headed to Chicago will receive*:
- Round-trip
coach air transportation between the major commercial airport nearest each
player’s permanent residence and Chicago, Illinois
- One standard
room, double occupancy, for three (3) nights’ accommodations at a Sponsor-specified
hotel in Chicago, Illinois
- Welcome
reception on Thursday night, August 26, 2010
- Awards
reception on Friday night, August 27, 2010
- Tickets
to each day of the AVP Tour Chicago Open, August 27-29, 2010
- Additional
Barefoot Wine and AVP gifts
*All players must be able to travel on
dates specified by the Sponsor or they will forfeit the trip.
Barefoot AVPNext Volleyball League Thursdays

Schedule:
- Thursday nights at Cedar Beach from June 3 to July 29
Players Player Eligibility
- Players
must be 21 years old
- Players
ranked individually 1 - 48 on the AVP tour are not eligible. Ineligible players will be published by
March 15, 2010
- All
players must be an AVPNext members
Prize Money: $1,200/gender
- 1st:
$500 plus trip to Chicago to compete in the Barefoot Championships and a
chance to qualify for the AVP Pro Volleyball Tour
- 2nd:
$300
- 3rd:
$200 (2 teams)
- Minimum
of 8 teams per gender required to give away prizes.
- Winning
team must attend & represent EEVB in the championship tournament in Chicago
in order to receive prize money. If the #1 team cannot play, prize money
and the trip will be given to the 2nd place team.
Format:
- Teams
will play in a weekly schedule
- Depending
on how many teams register, playoffs will be held during the final 1 or 2
weeks
- Teams
will be required to referee games when they are not playing
- Competition
must conclude with one men’s and women’s’ team champion that are committed
to playing in Chicago
Rosters and subs
- Teams
will be allowed to have up to 3 players on a roster, 2 main players plus 1
designated sub.
- Teams
will forfeit a game if they do not have 2 players ready to play at
designated playing time.
- Only
2 players win the trip to Chicago
