Long Beach, NY Fact Sheet at Riverside Blvd. Beach

 

Online Registration: Please pre-register to speed up registration!!!

 

Times: Saturday check in at 8 to 8:30 am, Sunday check in 9 to 9:30 am, play to 6 pm

Site: Riverside Blvd. Beach (enter 1 Riverside Blvd, Long Beach, NY into MapQuest). Beach badge is required and player’s responsibility. If you will play many Long Beach tournaments this summer consider getting a season pass through the City.

Divisions: Divisions in red will offer prize money

Sat: MO, WO, MAA, MA, MB, WAA, WA, WB

Sun: CO, CA, CB & MAA, Junior doubles (for boys and girls 18 & under and 15 & under will be held Sat. Aug. 2)

Prize Money Breakdown

Notes: Divisions with less than 8 teams may be merged with other divisions at tournament director’s discretion

Merged divisions will still have playoff for Grand Prix pts. MO, MAA, MA, MB, WO, WAA, WA all receive EEVB Grand Prix Pts.

Prizes awarded to top 4 teams in each division (3 teams in divisions with less than 8 teams

 

Format:   Pool play, followed by single elimination playoffs. Top 3 teams in pool make playoffs in 1 or 2 pool divisions. Top 2 teams make playoffs with 3 or more pools

Fees:    NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED ON BEACH

Men’s & Women’s Open $100 at large money tournaments

$60 all other divisions

Juniors $15/player (except 7/20)

AVPNext Memberships:

$10/player if done online

$15 if done at the beach`

Required of all players

Membership covers 1 calendar year from 1/1 to 12/31, AVPNext online registration

Tournament Day Procedures

 

Directions: (enter 1 Riverside Blvd, Long Beach, NY 11561 into Mapquest for a map to site)

From Long Island: Southern State Pkwy to Meadowbrook Pkwy south to Loop Pkwy. Right at end onto Lido Blvd (changes to Park Ave) Left at Riverside Blvd to ocean, free parking.

From Verrazano Bridge: Take Belt Parkway (Shore Pkwy) east towards Eastern LI and JFK airport. Near airport get off at Nassau Expressway (Rte 878) exit. Take Nassau Expressway, which becomes Rockaway Blvd (Follow signs for Long Beach or Atlantic Beach Bridge) to Rte 878. Go over Atlantic Beach Bridge and make left onto Park St/Beech St. Go through commercial section and make right on New York Ave. Make left on Broadway. Go 2 miles to Riverside Blvd. Make right to tournament site at boardwalk.

By Train: LIRR to Long Beach. Leaving the station go across Park Ave. left, make right on Riverside Blvd. and walk south towards Ocean. Enter beach at Riverside Blvd. under the boardwalk.

Hotel:   Jackson Hotel 516-431-3700, 405 East Broadway in Long Beach walking distance from the tournament. $99 + tax, ask for East End Volleyball Rate. Good for the Entire 2009 season
