League Procedures

1.     The first 2 full teams that arrive at the gym play the 1st match of the night. If 2 teams are not ready to play by 6:45 (or 8:45 in the late session), then the 2 teams listed first on the schedule will start playing even if they are shorthanded. The winner of the 2nd game of the first match stays on and plays the game 1 work team. Follow this order throughout the night. All matches will be 2 games played at one time.
All warm-ups must be finished before that time and matches must start at 6:45 or 8:45.

2.     Any team that starts play with 1 female will begin the game minus 3 pts per game; even if the missing female arrives during the game (she can still join in right away). The 3-points can be added anytime during a match if the score keeper forgets to add them at the beginning; even if that ends the game at the point they are added. The 3 point deficit is waived if the team plays with only 3 males and 1 female.

3.     Teams that are short players may pick up to 2 players from the team that is not playing as long as the captain of the competing team agrees. Teams that pick up any extra players will start the game minus 3 pts per game

4.     The most a team can start down is 4 pts.

5.     Rule clarifications:

a.     Let serves are legal. (Play any serve that hits the net)

b.    The backboard is in and any ball that hits it is in play regardless of the trajectory of the ball. The only ball not good is the one that hits the backboard and rebounds over the net without any players touching it. This rule will keep more balls in play.

c.     The ball may not be carried. Referees should call a tighter game than in the past, as this will only make players better.

d.    No point cap, teams must win by 2 pts.

e.     Games are all played to the same amount, no shortening of games if running late.
